As we reflect on the thrilling journey of the Mighty HENS, Hennessy Catholic College's Elite Netball Team, one word comes to mind: triumph. The journey began in Term 1 with trials that saw an unprecedented turnout of over 100 students eager to don the esteemed #HENS jersey. This year has marked a pivotal moment in the team's history, with 70 exceptional athletes earning their place in the spotlight at the All Schools Cup in Young. The All Schools Cup in Young was nothing short of spectacular for the Mighty HENS, as victories resonated across every age category, both male and female. This triumph propelled our talented squad to the Phase 2 of the All Schools Cup in Albury Wodonga. While podium glory eluded us, our HENS emerged as gracious winners of our region, showcasing their prowess by defeating formidable opponents from Cootamundra and Young High School. To the boys and girls of the Mighty HENS, your achievements are nothing short of extraordinary. Your dedication, resilience, and sportsmanship have not only elevated the team but have also inspired those who have had the privilege to witness your prowess on the court. A heartfelt thank you extends to the students and their parents for their unwavering support of the Mighty HENS. From the grind of weekly training sessions to the spirited competition in the town league, your commitment has been the backbone of our success. Special gratitude is reserved for the driving forces behind the scenes: Emily Rogers (Aunty Hen), Janice Dunk (Sister Hen), and Emily Coffee (Godmother Hen). Your tireless efforts in training, supervising, and motivating our Elite Athletes have been instrumental in shaping this victorious chapter for the Mighty HENS. As we close the chapter on this remarkable year, I look forward to another year of growth and triumph for Netball at Hennessy. The Mighty HENS have set a standard of excellence that will undoubtedly inspire future generations of netball elite within our school community.
